What You’ll Learn:

Hiragana and Katakana – the two Japanese syllabaries essential for reading and writing. Basic Kanji – essential characters used in everyday Japanese. Japanese Language Course Outline — N5 & N4 Level

1. Writing Systems
  • Hiragana (46 characters + diacritics)

  • Katakana (46 characters + diacritics)

  • Introduction to basic Kanji (around 300 characters)

2. Grammar
  • Basic sentence structures

  • Essential particles (は, が, を, に, で, へ)

  • Verb forms (present, past, negative)

  • Adjectives (い-adjectives, な-adjectives)

  • Forming questions and negatives

3. Vocabulary
  • Numbers, dates, and time

  • Common everyday nouns and verbs

  • Polite expressions and greetings

4. Listening & Speaking
  • Understanding simple conversations

  • Practicing introductions and daily interactions

  • Role-playing common situations

5. Reading & Writing
  • Reading short sentences and dialogues

  • Writing sentences using hiragana, katakana, and kanji
